Beach Width Monitoring - Bolsa Chica State Beach-Huntington Beach

Beach Width Monitoring Bolsa Chica State Beach-Huntington Beach region 5 records the monthly beach width of Bolsa Chica State Beach and Huntington Beach in order to document any trends of erosion that may be caused by the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve Inlet. The entire width of the beach is measured monthly at 10 chosen locations on both sides of BCER inlet at a high tide of 5 ft. ,or as close to 5 ft. as possible, using a stake in the ground and a 100m measuring tape. Along with the width of the beach the exact time and tide height at the collection time is also recorded.
