Friendship Line Services Provided to Older Adults in Response to COVID-19
In response to increased social isolation experienced by older adults and their families due to COVID-19, the California Department of Aging partnered with the Institute on Aging to expand services of the Friendship Line statewide. Friendship Line California is an accredited 24-hour toll-free hotline for older adults and adults with disabilities. The line is staffed by trained volunteers who specialize in having caring and friendly conversations.

The line is staffed by trained volunteers who specialize in offering a caring ear and having a friendly conversation with depressed older adults.
