Tuberculosis Case Numbers and Rates, California and Local Health Jurisdictions

This dataset includes two tables on tuberculosis (TB) in California: 1) TB cases and rates by place of birth, sex, age and race/ethnicity 2) TB cases by local health jurisdiction (LHJ). TB case reports are submitted to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), TB Control Branch (TBCB), by 61 local health jurisdictions (58 counties, and the cities of Berkeley, Long Beach, and Pasadena).

This table presents the number of active cases of tuberculosis and rates of TB in California by place of birth, age group, sex, and race/ethnicity. Categories identify patient demographic characteristics: Origin is the place of birth, Race/Ethnicity is the patient's self-report of their race and ethnicity, Age group is the patient's age at the date of first report of tuberculosis, Sex is the biological sex of the patient at birth.
