COVID-19 Skilled Nursing Facility Data

Nine-digit hospital identifier used in the Electronic Licensing Management System (ELMS), CDPH Center of Healthcare Quality, Licensing and Certification Program, California Department of Public Health.


The name of the skilled nursing facility for which numbers are being reported. The facility list is generated from the Electronic Licensing Management System (ELMS), Licensing and Certification Program, Center of Healthcare Quality, California Department of Public Health.


Date for which counts were reported. Daily reports are based on updates made between 12noon of the prior day and 12noon of the reporting day.


The total number of residents with a laboratory positive COVID-19 test result, in the facility on the day reported. Residents who have had a confirmed positive COVID test result, recovered, and have met criteria for discontinuation of isolation precautions are not counted. Values of less than eleven (11) are masked (shown as blank) in accordance with de-identification guidelines.


The number of staff and facility personnel, working at the facility on the day reported, who have a laboratory positive COVID-19 test result. Staff and facility personnel include anyone working or volunteering in the facility, which includes, but is not limited to, contractors, temporary staff, resident care givers, shared staff, etc... Staff who have had a confirmed positive COVID test result, recovered, and have met the criteria to return to work are not counted. Values of less than eleven (11) are masked (shown as blank) in accordance with de-identification guidelines.


The cumulative number of residents with laboratory-confirmed positive or suspected COVID-19, who died in the facility, or after being transferred to a hospital, since January 1, 2020. Values of less than eleven (11) are masked (shown as blank) in accordance with de-identification guidelines.


The cumulative number of the facility's healthcare workers, who have had a laboratory-confirmed positive COVID diagnosis, since January 1, 2020. If an employee works at multiple locations, the employee would be reported by each facility. Values of less than eleven (11) are masked (shown as blank) in accordance with de-identification guidelines.



The cumulative number of the facility's healthcare workers with laboratory-confirmed positive or suspected COVID-19 who have died, since January 1, 2020. If an employee works at multiple locations, the employee would be reported by each facility. Values of less than eleven (11) are masked (shown as blank) in accordance with de-identification guidelines.


Annotation identifying which fields have been suppressed for confidentiality.
